Since my childhood, it has always been my joy and feeling of accomplishment to create something.
I also realized that my creative activity was a way to strengthen my relationships with others by giving them my drawings, Christmas cards, and doll clothes. So, it was not surprising that I chose a design major when I entered college. After graduation, my art world extended to fiber and mixed media.
After spending several years of a busy life with exhibitions and teaching, I moved to the United States with my husband and two sons in 1999. Although I continued creative activities while supporting my family as a housewife, my artistic mind wandered through the threads of my everyday life. Now I can imagine my art has a larger story. I like to focus on using recyclable materials to create my artwork. I want my art to inspire people to appreciate how ordinary materials can be used. I hope we people can be a part of earth’s health in everyday life. The transformation of useless materials for meaningful results gives me endless joy.
about my art
Every day, I see a lot of plastic package materials that are destined to get trashed. However, to my eyes, they look beautiful and unique in colors and textures, so I reuse them with other leftover fabrics and stuff that I have kept in my storage to transform into many meaningful artworks.
